Blessed Be the Bread

I know, I know, I'm always posting about the bread.

But this bread is different.

This bread was, yes, made by human hands, but they weren't my hands. I wasn't in the kitchen. I didn't even peek at the process. Not a sideways glance. And yet, here's the bread!

My son made this loaf all by himself. From beginning to end. A Lone Wolf Loaf.

HALLELUJAH!

And then as vampire-prevention, he blessed it. I don't ask. He says he's an atheist. I guess some atheists enjoy thwarting vampires, no matter which camp they have to ally with.

Indeed! Very cool, and I imagine tasty—especially with real butter. What’s next in his culinary queue? I love to cook—usually Creole/Cajun. You gotta add love to what you’re cooking. That’s what gives it true flavor! Of course, I’m still on the lookout for the ever elusive four-leaf clover soup recipe—red, hearty and thick and rich! One day! :)

As for the blessing, maybe it's his version of Pascal's Wager. :) It reminds me of a great quote from the good Mr. Buechner: "A true atheist does no dance on the grave of God."

Hi Deb - A few life-skills, a few new swear-words for the kitchen. Never knew anyone who relished cussing like this boy of mine. And I like to add to that, that it DOESN'T come from my side! ;-)

Constantine - Definitely real butter. The next thing on his culinary agenda is potato salad, but he's willing to undertake muffins if need be. Don't know what kind of blessings they'll get.

His atheism is a funny thing. It's more like he doesn't want any church or deity establishing squatter's rights on his soul, I think.

I haven't found that recipe yet either. Have any Irish-Cajun cookbooks?

I cuss quite a lot, too. Kinda goes in spells with me.
