So
I went looking for something in my linen closet today
and I found
the set of eight fabric coasters and
a matching fabric container
that I'd made as a Christmas gift
for a friend
and given to her
when she came to visit the other day.
Oh.
I guess they weren't wanted.
Now I have coasters.
I've been saying I should make some for myself.
I guess I did.

Hang on, you mean she put them in the linen closet? How very odd. I don't mean to be rude about your friend, but good manners usually means at least pretending to like something you don't, and carefully taking it with you when you go.
Yes, it was a little odd and a little shocking. Guess I won't make the same mistake again next year!
If you don't mind my saying so, your friend is crazy - I love your coasters! (This is why I always tell people, if you don't like it, no hard feelings. Just give it back to me so I know it'll be going to someone who loves it. :-)
Hi CitricSugar, nice to see you!
I thought they were okay. Not her taste, I guess. But now I have coasters!
I should be getting my coasters any day now I think. And I'm very excited.

Hi Annette!
I think that yes, they should be there soon. I'll have to check back which day I sent them, but it must have been at least a week, huh?
maybe they are magic coasters, like magic carpets, and somehow transported themselves back to your linen closet because they knew they wouldn't be loved?
yeah. i know. but i like to give the benefit of the doubt...
Hi Daisyfae,
Very magic!
Just one of those people who can't recieve, only give and give and give. Oh well. I tried.
yes they WERE loved! what was it yer Da used to say? "Daft as a brush!" not left deliberately, but taken out to admire, and idiotically forgotten. sigh.... i guess you'll give them a good home
no, wait.... i'm sure i have them.....
i truly am daft!!! they're right here!!! it was some other friend!!!! and if she truly didn't forget them, but left them deliberately, she's to be pitied for her lack of taste.
