Play My Giveaway!

Righty-ho!

The fabric is RED. You know why.

You do know why, right?

Anyway, it's give-away season, and I'm in the mood for a little poetically inspired stitchery. Write me a poem with a February theme, and your name goes in the toque. The end result? Not entirely certain, but it'll be fabric, it'll have at least a little bit of red on it, and it'll be some useful item.

Rules:

*Naughty is fine (possibly encouraged), grossly graphic is not.

*Doesn't have to be original.
Limericks are always a happy choice. But I can be a haiku kinda gal too. Sonnets count.
(Watch your feet.)

*Entrants must have a valid Terrestrial citizenship.
(No illegal Aliens. The postage would be astronomical.)

The draw will be made on February 14!

OK I'm not in the running for this, being non-terrestrial and all, and I can't write poetry of any sort, but I'll kick off with:

February
Nice warm feelings
Valentine's Day

Kate, you're the first! That COUNTS!!!

I make no claims of being a poet, but here's what I anticipate for this sunny February day:

There once was a gal in AZ
Who wanted to get out and ski.
So she skated uphill
For the subsequent thrill
Of gliding back down through the trees.

A Valentine Haiku...
...all red & everything

Kiss Her Secret Smile
Caress Her Strawberry Curls
Parting Lovely Lips...

Well, I was wondering where everyone was!

An original limerick, with ascending action, climax, and denoument! So Mary Anne, did you get some skiing in today?

And Jim, I would love to read what you wrote, but the glass on my monitor's all fogged up and I can't see a darn thing. Would you have anything to do with that?

;-)

I did go skiing! It was lovely, if a bit warm. There's a good snowpack and I'm hoping for x-c skiing through March. We'll see.

I think it's your new glasses that are fogged up, not the monitor.

That's what happens when you encourage naughtiness...

Happy Valentines Day!

You're probably right. It's the glasses. I told the optician that rose-coloured specs would lead me straight to perdition, but would she take no for an answer?

Naughty was indeed encouraged. Extra points!

I forgot to mention how much I like the photo accompanying this post. Very nice!
